Endeavour Awards Program

Endeavour Awards Program managed by DEST provides opportunities within the Asia-Pacific region for developing mutual understanding through study, research, professional development and international education experiences. The Endeavour Program objective is to establish the Endeavour Awards Program as a prestigious scholarship program which will showcase Australia’s education, science and training sectors’ excellence. Under Australian Scholarships, over the next five years from 2007 to 2011, up to 10,000 scholarships will be offered as part of the Endeavour Program. The Program aims to bring high achieving students, researchers and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region and other regions to Australia to undertake short or long term study, research and professional development in a broad range of disciplines. (It also encourages Australians to do the same abroad.)

The main features of the Program include providing:

• comprehensive awards including fully-funded and short-term scholarships, research and language
• teacher training fellowships, student exchanges, professional training awards and a science collaboration fund;
• an international and enriching learning experience;
• accredited global qualifications; and
• global networking opportunities.
