Academic Merit
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic
merit in line with minimum eligibility criteria.
Development
Priorities
Course applied for aligns with the development
priorities of the Government of PNG.
Work Experience
Work experience in the chosen field of study.
Equity
Equal number of scholarships will be awarded to women
and men in each sector (TAFE, undergraduate, postgraduate and
PhD).
People with disabilities and people from the provinces
are encouraged to apply.
Compliance
Full documentation and completion of application form,
including all proper certification.
JASC - Joint ADS Selection
Committee The Joint ADS Selection Committee comprises
representatives from the National Training Council, the Department
of Personnel Management, the Department of National Planning and
Monitoring and AusAID.
The purpose of the JASC is to undertake each year’s
selections in accordance with the selection criteria and eligibility
guidelines. Any changes proposed to selection policy and
eligibility criteria are referred to the Facility Advisory Board
(FAB).
The expected outcome of the JASC selection process is to identify
the agreed number of Priority and Reserve awardees. The total
number of awards is agreed each year between AusAID and the
Department of Planning and Monitoring. For 2011, 130 awards
are allocated - 65 Male and 65 Female. In 2009 the JASC selected
priority awards for commencement of study in 2010 as follows:
