Papua New Guinea Country Specific eligibility criteria
The conditions set by the Government of Papua New Guinea which are to be considered in conjunction with those listed above are:
- Applicants must be supported by their employer;
- Applicants must be employed or can prove employment of at least two years duration in recent times;
- Course applied for must be in line with current work duties and in line with the National Training priorities;
- Not applying for a course which is available in PNG;
- Preference will be given to those who have not benefited from an overseas training program previously;
- PhD applicants must be employed either by a tertiary institution or a recognised research institute;
- Public Sector employees can only employ through the public sector category;
- Applicants must meet the academic entry criteria set for each level;
- Applications must be forwarded through their employer to either the National Training Council for the Open Sector or the Department of Personal Management of the Public Sector;
- Applicant must not be a current student in any institution in PNG;
- Applicants are encouraged to apply for the next higher level form that already completed.Duplication of programs is not encouraged.
There are certain types of courses that are not available under the ADS program.
ADS are not available for:
- undergraduate medical and veterinary science programs;
- training in areas related to nuclear technology and flying aircraft;
- legal workshops;
- honours year students;
- double degree at undergraduate and/or masters level;
