Leadership Support Initiative - HIV and AIDS

A comprehensive response to HIV must be spearheaded by strong leadership. This leadership must come from all strata in society – political, bureaucratic, religious, community and traditional.

PATTAF, on behalf of AusAID and other development partners, manages the delivery of the Leadership Support Initiative through the PNG National Aids Council.

The overarching objective of the Leadership Support Initiative is to support Goal 3 of the PNG National Strategic Plan for HIV and AIDS (2006-2010) which is to Encourage politicians and leaders at all levels of society to give a high profile to the national response by fostering political and leadership commitment at all levels of society.
